A striking 9ct gold emerald-cut brown gemstone ring, individually sourced for LO Preloved.
The centre of this piece is dominated by a large rectangular gemstone in a deep, smoky brown tone. Its emerald-style step cut creates broad, clean facets across the surface. As the ring moves in the light, those facets shift from near-black brown to warmer translucent tones.
The centre stone is held securely in a raised claw setting. Around it sits a fine border of small clear gemstones. This delicate surround follows the angular shape of the centre stone while adding brightness and contrast.
Although the face of the ring is substantial, the setting has been designed with an open structure beneath the stone. As a result, the ring keeps an elegant profile when viewed from the side. The architectural gallery also allows the scale and depth of the centre gemstone to remain visible.
The warm 9ct yellow gold band creates a strong contrast against the dark gemstone. Meanwhile, the clear surround adds a lighter detail between the two. From the side, the band rises towards the setting with split shoulders, giving the large centrepiece additional support.
This is very much a statement ring. The oversized rectangular stone covers a significant area of the finger, while the clean geometric cut gives the piece a strong, structured appearance.
Despite its scale, the design remains relatively simple. The colour, cut and sheer size of the centre gemstone are the focus.
It is an unusual piece with serious presence on the hand and a distinctive vintage-inspired feel.
